PDF files are the most reliable format for professional printing because they preserve your document exactly as designed. Fonts, layout, colors, and sizing stay consistent no matter what computer or software opens the file. This helps prevent unexpected shifts, missing fonts, or formatting problems that can occur with other file types.
Many image formats such as JPG, PNG, or TIFF are raster images, meaning they are made up of individual pixels. Raster images can look fine on screen but may appear blurry, jagged, or low-quality when printed, especially if they are enlarged or saved at low resolution.
PDFs, on the other hand, can contain both raster images and vector graphics. Vector elements (such as text, logos, and line art) are created using mathematical paths rather than pixels, which allows them to scale to any size while staying perfectly sharp. This is why logos and text in a properly prepared PDF print much more cleanly than the same artwork saved as an image.
